Wed, Oct 16, 2013 Discussion Question

We will be discussing two topics today. Please read both articles.

1)Cellphones and court.

After reading this article, please think about the questions at the bottom of the article. Also, do you think $50 is enough of a fine to stop people from using cell phones in court? Should cell phones be collected and kept by staff before people enter the courtroom?

2)Garbage

Who should be responsible for cleaning up the mess, the companies, the people who live in the area, or the city? Should companies be fined if their garbage is found in public places? How could the city prevent littering? What does the government do in Japan, Korea, or Venezuela? Is littering a problem there?
